Then Luke finds a hidden case inside the wreck.
One of the things I enjoyed most about writing this story was bringing two very different kinds of investigators together. Gemma follows documents, interviews, and money trails. Luke understands damaged structures, dive conditions, and the ways the Gulf can conceal evidence. Neither one has enough of the picture alone.
They also have good reasons not to trust each other.
The storm gives the investigation urgency, but it doesn’t create the danger. It strips away the protection around an old secret. Missing records, shell companies, and decisions made decades earlier begin connecting to the present. What looked like a terrible accident starts to resemble something carefully arranged.
