Stolen Secrets by S.F. Baumgartner - Book 7 of the Mirror Estate Series

The secrets never stay buried for long.

That idea has followed the Mirror Estate series from the very beginning. Family secrets. Hidden histories. Lies wrapped in loyalty. Every book peels back another layer, and somehow the deeper the story goes, the more dangerous the truth becomes.

As I prepare for the release of Stolen Secrets, I’ve been thinking about the image above and why it feels like the perfect representation of Book 7.

The building stands quiet. Elegant. Almost welcoming at first glance. But the shadows tell a different story. The rain-slick pavement reflects light in a way that feels cold and uncertain. You can almost imagine someone watching from one of those windows, waiting for the wrong person to ask the right question.

That is the heart of Stolen Secrets.

This book pulls several threads together while opening the door to even larger revelations ahead. Old alliances are tested. Hidden agendas rise to the surface. And some characters will discover that the people they trusted most may have been keeping secrets all along.

For longtime readers of the series, you’ll recognize familiar faces and unresolved mysteries coming back into play. For newer readers, this story still delivers the fast-paced suspense, danger, and layered conspiracy that define the world of Mirror Estate.

One thing I wanted to emphasize with this image is atmosphere. I love thrillers that feel cinematic. Stories where the setting becomes part of the tension. A storm outside. A silent hallway. Reflections on wet pavement. The sense that something is just slightly off.

Those details matter to me as a writer because they create mood before a single line of dialogue is spoken.

I’m also hoping to breathe new life into this blog moving forward. Along with book updates, I’d love to share more behind-the-scenes thoughts about the writing process, inspiration, characters, future projects, and maybe even a few surprises along the way.

For now, remember this:

Some secrets are hidden for a reason.
